Hey everyone! Have you all been watching the Jane Austen series on Masterpiece Theatre on PBS?

It's been fun to see some new versions of the old stand-bys, and I'm excited about the new Sense and Sensibility coming up next (end of March). The only problem is that they're much too short!

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the series. So far, I probably liked Northanger Abbey the best. The main character, Catherine, is so adorable!

Emma is probably the JA character I identify with most. This is partly due to the fact that I am an undercover match-maker. I usually don't tell the matches, but after I'm married, I plan to do my best to nudge couples towards marriage as much a possible. I just have the sneaky suspicion that people might listen to me a bit more after I'm married myself... :)

Hi Rebecca? How do you do? Trust you are doing well. How far have you reached in your relationship with the amazing guy, pray that may God give you wisdom and show you the right way for you to follow, and He will give you the best in Life, which you have not even dreamt of. keep trusing Him. Esther

Hi there, friends! I just wanted to take a minute and ask for your prayers, since this *is* a prayer support group. :) A few months ago, I met a really amazing man on a Christian match site. We e-mailed for awhile, and have been talking on the phone for the past few weeks. He has talked about coming to see me, and of course, I'm thrilled that he's willing to take that risk. I am just asking that you pray for us to have wisdom for this next "stage", and for him to follow through on making plans to come see me. This is a very delicate time in a relationship, and I am trying to be patient and trust God for the outcome. At the same time, I am nervous, because I've had some bad experiences over the past few years with online dating, and guys that "disappear" and back out of the relationship without any warning. Please pray for me to have peace about this, and for him to be encouraged to pursue me (if he is indeed the one God has for me).

Thank you all so much!!!

Hey!
Thanks for the add. =]
I was definitely having a blessed week when you posted that comment... still am... I've been in Puerto since May 27th- visiting some of my family... I'll be back in the "Big City" =] this weekend.
To answer your question about meeting guys out here in NYC.. ummm... honestly, I'm probably the last person you should ask. lol. Reason being, I don't really take full advantage of the fact that I live in the city that never sleeps. =] The last boyfriend I had (about a year and a half ago) was from a small town in Michigan. I originally met him on an online christian website... and eventually, after a little over a year, met him in person.
As of now, we're friends...and I'm especially close to his mom. She's an awesome woman that I can go to for prayer...or just call up to chat about anything & everything; pretty much a great friend.
Anyways, I'm going off on a tangent...The city guys that I've met have always turned out to be non-dating material...to say the very least. lol.
Maybe there's a good man hidden out there under some rock in Central Park or something...lol...but I have yet to come across him.
Anyways, I hope you're having an awesome week and I love your name by the way! =)

I'm on the front porch of a local college - supposedly interviewing a gnome for a newspaper story. One of my best friends moved to Chicago. So in a fit of boredom, we took a gnome and went around our hometown snapping pictures of people and places with the gnome. It was fun.

I don't have a TV, but my mom has been watching all of the movies on PBS. Apparently, she just finished watching the A&E version, but she's taped the others for me - although because she lives in the country, the reception isn't always the best. I'll let you know when I watch them.

Have you ever been contra dancing? It is just like the dances in the movies. I HIGHLY recommend it.

I don't consider myself a matchmaker, but I understand what you're saying on that note.

Hi, Rebecca! Thanks for your note. The picture is from the west coast (Point Loma, San Diego). I love the ocean and have grown up by it. I have driven through Iowa before on one of my cross country ventures...beautiful state. I noticed that you had "The Sacred Romance" as one of our favorite books. I thoroughly enjoyed it as well (John Eldgredge was one of my professors when I was at the Focus on the Family Institute). I have not yet had the time to read Candice's book, but plan to as soon as I have a spare moment. What are your impressions thus far?

Rebecca, have you finished Candice's book? I'm wondering about your final impression.
