About Me:
I love the Lord Jesus with all of my heart and seek to follow Him daily in my life. I enjoy several creative outlets in life, including design (interior, graphic, etc.), photography, painting and crafts. I have a definite weakness for hazlenut flavored coffee and anything pink! :) I believe that all women are Princesses in Jesus' eyes. Oh yah....I'm also a bit of a school nerd--I love to learn! :)
Favorite Music:
OMGosh, almost anything...I love Christian music (of course!), especially Jeremy Camp, Chris Tomlin, Hillsong, etc. I also enjoy (no snickering, okay?) Disney music, movie soundtracks and classical music. I also really dig the "Oldies" because it's what I grew up listening too. (Love my Beatles!) Really anything with a good beat (this eliminates country and heavy metal, sorry, lol) and clean lyrics and I'm there!
Favorite Movies:
The Princess Diaries, Enchanted, What a Girl Wants, etc....yah, I'm definitely a chick-flick kinda gal! lol
Favorite Books:
The Bible :) (by God)
"Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren
"Let Go of Whatever Makes You Stop" by John L. Mason
"The Little Princess" by Frances Hodgens Burnett
"Chicken Soup for the Soul--Living Your Dreams" edition by (can't remember....Canfield? and some other guy)

How Important Is Physical Attraction???

Added a post Jun 13

I had the same question a few months ago and she sent an article to me. One of the lines reads: "...And yes, romantic love and attraction are a necessary part of marriage. They aren't everything, but without them, couples have a hard time fulfilling their marital duties, let alone approaching the intimacy in Song of Solomon. If you don't foresee being able to love this young man as a friend AND a lover, you really should end the dating relationship now. It's not fair to string him along." Reply »

ALICIA'S PAGE :)

I love this quote:

I love Disneyland! :)

I love black and white photography too! :)

You know, I started finding these little hearts left all over the place...

My family thinks that it means that I'm going to get married soon....

I believe that I will get married, but I also know that these little hearts are signs of God's Love for me, because I asked Him....

I've been finding these little hearts ever since. I don't go looking for them, they more or less just stumble across my path and lift my spirits with good cheer for the day. :)

Playing with Color!

Real color! :)

I got ahold of Paint on my computer one day and sketched out a little cartoon. Even when you girls feel lonely and feel like no one loves you, Jesus loves you and has a plan for your life. :) Be encouraged! :)!

Birthdays Don't Have to Be a Scary Experience

Sigh....another birthday passed, another year older....and I'm not feeling the same panic that I felt a few years ago on another birthday. I feel like something has started to change in me. Today's birthday wasn't a scary experience because I felt surrounded by the love of my family and friends and felt God's promise written deep in my heart. I don't have to worry about getting another year older or feeling like my time to get married is running out, because God's plans and timing are perfect. :)

"Ever Ever After" :)

This Valentine's Day has been different than other Valentine's Days. I think because rather than giving into the sad feelings of being single that tried to creep up me several times today, I instead focused on what God is going to do in my life one day when He brings my spouse to me. Whenever I saw two lovers walking arm in arm, rather than getting all mopey like I usually do, I instead imagined that that would be me and my own husband someday (because that is a part of the plan that I believe that God has for my life).

I purchased the soundtrack to the movie Enchanted (one of my fave movies--it's such a "me" movie, lol). I especially liked the lyrics to one of the songs by Carrie Underwood called, "Ever Ever After."

I hope that you will all be as blessed as I was when I read the lyrics--to not be afraid to dream about marriage because I believe that God puts that beautiful desire into each of our hearts.

Enjoy,

Alicia

"EVER EVER AFTER" (Record version)

By: Carrie Underwood

Ever ever after...

Storybook endings

Fairy tales coming true

Deep down inside

We want to believe they still do.

In our secretest heart

It's our favorite part of the story.

Let's just admit

We all want to make it to

Ever ever after.

If we just don't get in our own way

Ever ever

It may only be a wish away...

Start a new fashion

Wear your heart on your sleeve.

Sometimes you reach what's realest

By making believe.

Unafriad, unashamed,

There is joy to be claimed in this world.

You even might wind up

Being glad to be you.

Ever ever after

Though the world will tell you

It's not smart.

Ever ever after

The world can be yours

If you let your heart

Believe in ever after....

And no wonder your heart

Feels it's flying

Your head feels it's spinning.

Each happy ending's

A brand new beginning.

Let yourself be enchanted

You just might break through

To ever ever after.

Forever could even start today.

Ever ever after

Maybe it's just one wish away.

Your ever ever after

(I've been dreaming of a true love's kiss)

Forever ever after."

The time is coming soon for each of you! :)

I read this verse that greatly encouraged me and I wanted to share the verse with all of you. It spoke to me deeply and resonated in my heart about looking to the Lord expectantly for all that He is going to do as far as Christian marriage goes and His working out the situation for me to meet my future husband one day. I'm not sure if it's out of context or not, but it spoke to me about my singleness situation and I hope that it will speak to you all too.

Okay, so to the verse! :)

It's Habakkuk 2:3 (NCV). It says:

"It is not yet time for the message to come true, but that time is coming soon;
the message will come true.
It may seem like a long time, but be patient and wait for it, because it will surely come; it will not be delayed."

Be blessed! :)

I saw this on youtube the other day and it had me crying like a baby! :) The people have titled it, "The World's Best Proposal"--it's sooo cute! (Especially both of their reactions after she says yes). And what better place than in front of the Castle at Disneyland! After I found this video, I saved it as one of my favorites because it's soo darn cute!!

Enjoy!

Mr Right? What Does He Look Like?

I was really encouraged by this article that I read in a Today's Christian Woman magazine from the year 2000. It was written by Stephen Arterburn about what "Mr. Right" looks like. It is some really good advice. :) I read the list almost every single day. :) I list it here for educational/learning purposes and to encourage you.

Be blessed!

--Alicia :)

WHAT DOES "MR. RIGHT" LOOK LIKE?
HE'S RESPONSIBLE. He'll want to provide for you and protect you in a healthy way. If he's irresponsible with time, money, talent or work, he'll be the same way or even more so in marriage.
HE CAN DELAY GRATIFICATION. He'l be able to wait for sex. He'll be able to save rather than spend. See if he has the strength to delay something that feels good now for something that will feel better later.
HE COMMUNICATES. You deserve a man who can talk to you. If communication's not there from the beginning, it probably won't ever be. Mr. Right needs to know how to talk.
HE HAS SUPPORTIVE FRIENDS. Be sure your Mr. Right has friends who can help him--and friends whom he can help. A red flag is a man who has no friends and no desire to connect with others, or whose friends are unsavory.
HE HAS A PURPOSE. He needs to have a life goal that goes beyond having a lot of money or a fishing boat or making it to retirement. Ask him why God created him and how his purpose relates to God.
HE'S KIND AND COMFORTABLE WITH WOMEN. It's astonishing to see how kind Jesus was to women. Is your Mr. Right the same?
HE PRAYS. Make sure he seeks God regularly. If he's not a man of prayer, there's little chance he'll grow in his relationship with God.
HE'S INTERESTED IN GOD'S WORD. If your man seems uncomfortable attending Bible studies or reading God's Word, it may mean spiritual intimacy will not be part of your marriage.
HE'S CHILD-FRIENDLY. Know that he's as committed to raising great kids as you are. If children are in your future, make sure Mr. Right knows how to love them.
HE HAS INTEGRITY. Integrity and character go hand-in-hand. Can you trust what he says and that he'll follow through on what he intends to do?
HE LOVES. Be sure your Mr. Right is like Jesus--that he truly knows how to love you and meet your needs, that his love leads him to serve you and lay down his life for you. Now that's a real Mr. Right!

Wow, isn't that super-cool? I love the guideline that he gives about finding a man of integrity, character and good, upright living. Sweet beans. ;)

oh yeah! I wanted to add...It's good for us to pray for our brothers (not just our future husbands) that they would have these qualities. There is a serious lack out there of men (that I know of) that have these characteristics.

hanks for the list of qualities. I will take them all into consideration.

The scriptures that I use to determine what I want in a mate is part of the qualifications of an elder/bishop Titus 1:7-9 blameless, a steward of God, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, hospitable, a lover of what is good, sober-minded, just, holy, self-controlled, holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, has sound doctrine...

1 Timothy 3: 2-7; above reproach, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach (more spiritually mature than me), not a drunkard, not violent, gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money, must be well thought of by outsiders...v.8; dignified, not double-tongued ,not greedy for dishonest gain, holds the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience.
