The Home Has a Heart

Some of my heroines you will find in my favorite book listings. These ladies (Edith Schaeffer, Thyra Ferre Bjorn, Elizabeth George and Ingrid Trobisch) share a similar thread that draws me back to their writings time and time again. Their writings center around the home and its life - the art of being a woman and putting our hearts into our homes.

The Home Has a Heart emphasizes the importance of a woman's heartbeat in the home-it is what builds families and nations. The book is out of print but you can find used copies on Amazon.com or Alibris.com. The author, Thyra Ferre Bjorn, covers each month of the year by highlighing the season, duties and celebrations in the home, sample menus/recipes, and ways that a woman brings life to her home and her loved ones. Thyra is from Sweden and the book is full of rich stories about her Swedish homeland, as well as her life in America.

I guess what I like best about this book is the rhythm of life, tradition, and seasons that we share across generations. Our pace of life might be different today, but the needs of our hearts and homes remain the same. That makes this book a classic and timeless for us ladies.

Hi Amy Lynn :)

No pressure, upload them when you can, but don't feel rushed. :)

You sounded like you needed a little help to know how to upload your pics to your computer. I hope that I can help. :)

Find your USB cable (the cable that usually comes with your camera) and connect it to the port (that's the area where the cable plugs into) that is on the front of your computer module. (The computer module is the part of the computer where the CD's go into).

There should be a little tiny slot at almost the bottom of the module. Usually, it's upside down, so you might have to get down on your hands and knees, feel around or flip it upside down to find it for the first time.

Connect your USB cable to the computer module and to your camera and turn your camera on. Usually this will kick in a photo wizard or some kind of other photo device on your computer and you follow the steps from there.

If you have difficulties figuring out where your photos are once you upload them, it's helpful to make a separate folder on your desktop and then designate them to that folder when you work through the photo wizard.

Sorry, it sounds confusing, but it's really simple once you learn how to do it. :) I wish that I was closer so that I could show you.

Hope this helps a little bit! :)
Have a blessed day,
Al

Hi Amy-Lyn, thanks for taking the time to comment.

To answer your question . . . I'd join a group like that.

I don't think though that it should be limited to those who are persecuted. Here in Taiwan there is not persecution like in China, but female believers here face the reality that becoming a Christian probably also means spending their life single.

And in a society that pushes marriage and family, they are often asked to compromise and marry nonbelievers.
